Research Case Work Intervention Study On Psychological Adjustment Of Widowed Elderly Women

At present,the number of widowed elderly in China is huge,and the growth rate is accelerating.Most of the old people have some negative emotional problems such as sadness and loneliness after their widowhood,which makes them more vulnerable psychologically and difficult to get out of the shadow of widowhood.As a special group,the widowed elderly have unique psychological adjustment needs,which need the attention and help of professionals.In this study,the psychological adjustment professionals refer to social workers,that is,through the use of professional methods and skills of social work to help and guide the widowed elderly,to improve the psychological adjustment ability of service objects and make them return to normal social life.As a self-help subject,social work has its unique professional advantages,which can help the widowed elderly to relieve their sadness and provide psychological support.On the basis of assisting the social workers to take charge of the project,through community visits and understanding with the community staff,the author chooses the widowed old lady Liu as the service object,takes the social support theory as the guidance,and collects data on the basis of in-depth interviews and participatory observation.And combined with the actual situation of the service object,the intervention is carried out in the form of case work.First of all,the use of empathy,self disclosure and other skills to help the service object to pour out their grief,to pacify the service object’s sadness.Secondly,we should help the clients face death squarely and overcome the negative beliefs of self blame and guilt.Thirdly,guide the service object to join the chorus for the elderly,make new friends,and change the lonely life of the service object after widowed.And on this basis,improve the social participation of service objects.Finally,we should connect the family,neighborhood and social resources for the service object,repair the social relationship of the service object,strengthen the support network of the service object,so as to improve the psychological adjustment ability of the service object,and make the service object adapt to the life after widowed smoothly.This study lasted for three months,and played a certain role in improving the ability of psychological adjustment of service objects.Through the process evaluation and result evaluation of the whole service process,the author compares the changes of service objects before and after the intervention of social workers,and summarizes and reflects on the advantages,disadvantages and ethical dilemma of social work intervention.On this basis,this paper gives specific countermeasures and suggestions for the psychological adjustment of widowed elderly groups,hoping to provide practical experience for future social workers to intervene in such cases,so as to further explore the new mode of social work in alleviating the psychological adjustment of widowed elderly.
