The traditional education evaluation based on paper-and-pencil testing methods has been widely used in China because of its fairness,justice,openness and transparency.However,education evaluation based on paper-pencil tests focuses on evaluating students’ ability to master,memorize,and comprehend the knowledge they have learned,and it is difficult to accurately evaluate students’ higher-order thinking abilities,such as students’ innovation ability and cooperation ability.However,the core of STEAM(Science Technology Engineering Arts Mathematics,STEAM)education is to cultivate students’ interdisciplinary comprehensive abilities such as innovation ability.For this reason,traditional education evaluation cannot be fully applied to STEAM education evaluation.At present,research on STEAM education evaluation is in full swing.Existing researches on STEAM education evaluation mainly focus on the evaluation of STEAM education development effect,teachers’ teaching quality and so on.Even so,in STEAM education,there are few evaluation studies on the core literacy ability of students have driven by projects.In addition to that,STEAM education in China still suffering from the lack of a unified standard to evaluate skills and abilities that students possess,which leads to an unsatisfactory effect of STEAM education.By taking these limitations into consideration,this thesis built a project-driven evaluation index system and a quantitative evaluation model for the core literacy ability of college students based on STEAM education.The main contributions of this study are summarized as follows:(1)In chapter 2,this thesis constructed the evaluation index system of the core literacy ability of college students in STEAM education driven by the project.In this chapter,we investigate a large amount of literature,deeply analyze learners’ five types of literacy in STEAM education,and seek an objective evaluation path for the five types of literacy.Then,we use two rounds of the Delphi method to solicit the opinions of experts,and finally we determine the evaluation index system.On this basis,in addition to using web crawler technology,we use the TF-IDF(Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency,TF-IDF)method to calculate the weight of the evaluation index.Finally,the index weight calculated by TF-IDF is combined with the weight calculated by Delphi method as the final evaluation index weight.The empirical analysis results show that the evaluation index system constructed in this thesis can accurately evaluate the core literacy abilities of college students.(2)In the third chapter,we propose a quantitative evaluation model based on a fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to solve the problems of strong subjectivity in traditional education evaluation.Specifically,we use the evaluation system to evaluate the student’s ability in order to obtain corresponding evaluation data.Then we use the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to quantify the team’s overall core literacy ability.The experimental results show that the quantitative evaluation model based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method constructed in this thesis not only helps to improve the quality of student team formation,but also helps students to give full play to their own advantages in group projects.
