Quality is the core of the development of graduate education,and the quality of thesis is the concentrated reflection of the quality of graduate education.Guaranteeing and improving the quality of thesis has become an important subject in the reform and development of degree and graduate education.Based on total quality management theory,this research mainly uses the methods of quantitative analysis,text analysis and interview to study the quality status,main problems and causes of academic master’s degree theses in education discipline,and puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to improve the quality of academic master’s degree theses in education discipline.First of all,based on the quantitative analysis of the result data of a sampling on academic master’s degree theses in education discipline from 2014 to 2017,the paper presents the current situation of the quality of academic master’s degree theses in education discipline,and finds that the overall quality and sub-item quality of academic master’s degree theses in education discipline have improved on the whole.Secondly,based on the qualitative analysis of peer experts’ literal evaluation of a sampling on academic master’s degree theses in education discipline in S province from 2015 to 2018,the typical problems existing in academic master’s degree theses of education discipline are extracted,which are manifested in the anomie of topic selection,false literature review,unclear research design,improper research methods,deviation of research theme,fuzzy research problems,insufficient research depth,false conclusions and suggestions,chaotic logical structure,lack of standardization of paper language,lack of standardization of paper format.Then,based on the qualitative analysis of the interview materials of academic master’s tutors in education discipline,this paper deeply explore the causes of the problems in the academic master’s degree theses of education discipline,including the potential consciousness and specific actions of students,the academic quality and academic guidance of tutors,the training mechanism and management mechanism of training units.Finally,combining the above analysis,based on the perspectives of students,tutors,training units,and the government,this paper constructs corresponding intrinsic motivation measures,responsibility mechanisms,guarantee mechanisms and regulatory measures aimed at improving the quality of academic master’s degree theses in education discipline.
