| Graduation thesis is a very important process in university's teaching course. The quality of the graduated thesis is a very important factor that reflects university's teaching process quality. There are many plagiarizing problems in the graduation thesis, these problems reflect that there are serious quality management problem in the process of graduztion thesis supervising; the form of thesis don't follow the criteria set up by university or school, especially for the quotation of reference literature. This problem has a bad influence for the quality and usefulness of the theses. In this paper, the author did a quantitative research for these problems, in order to arosing the attention of relative departments of university.In this paper, the author made a research on the graduation thesis through telephone interviews and questionnaire survey to the relative scholars and experts. Meanwhile the author inspected 175 pieces of graduation thesis in a marketing department and got lots of data, including the word volume of graduation theses, the volume of reference literatures, the marking of the pages of the literatures, the volume ofEnglish literatures, the volume of wrong words in the sampled pages, etc. and got some results through analizing data, as follows,1) Put up a method of inspecting the graduation theses. Using this method, the author inspected the average volume of the graduation theses, the volume of inference literature, and the volume of English literature.etc. This method is a kind of fast means of inspecting theses quality. This method can be used in the theses quality examination among the classes, institutes and schools, and also can be used in the quality examination of the theses of the two (-or-three)-year-term college students and graduate students furtherly.2) Through the inspection to graduation thesis, the author demonstrated the problems existing in the thesis with the data clearly. More than 60% of the theses didn't use the word process software which links chaper titles to the catalogue automaticly, and more than 90% of the theses, the chart and the form were not arranged in the catalogue; nearly 50% of the theses didn't mark the detail page number in the reference literature; 60% of the theses are classified as with the questionnaires designed to get information in students'research; the wrong words can be founded in nearly 70% of the theses in the situation of special sampling(three pages purposely selected); all the referenceliterature didn't follow the criteria set up by university or school; the words of titles exceed 20 words in nearly 11% of the theses; 32% of the final thesis titles have been changed according to their previous ones.3) Discussed a serial of criteria to the graduation theses based on the data analysis and the sum-up (see form 4-13) such as: the word volume of the theses should be in the scope of 20,000-23,000 words, the theses should be five chapters and three grades perferly, the catalog of chart and table should be lay out correctly, the word volume of Chineses abstracts should be in the scope of 350-450 words, the word volume of English abstracts should be in 200-300 words.4) Disscused on the relationship of the form quality and the inherent quality of the theses, the author draws the conclusion that there is the obvious correlation of them. The quantities of the references literature of the theses larger, the quality of the theses are better, the quantities of the wrong words in the theses are less, and the qualities of the theses are better. In a word, the form quality of the theses is more following the criteria; the quality of the theses is better.5) Analyzed the quantity, the year period and the types of the quotation of the literatures of the theses. The average quantity ofquotation is 19.2 pieces, among them the English quotations are less then 3 pieces.
