| Tourism lifestyle migration has been an important social geography phenomenon.Tourism lifestyle migrants aim to search a better life constantly,when the destination fail to keep satisfying this goal,they move to the next destination.So this migration alters demographic structure and heterogeneity of the tourism community,with increasing mobility and instability in community.The mobility of tourism lifestyle migrants is an ongoing and dynamic process,with economic support by themselves.Researches about tourism lifestyle migrants always offer a snapshot of their complex social pathways and ongoing geographic trajectories during a period in which they reside temporarily in a destination.Thus,this paper attempt to explore the moving patterns of tourism lifestyle migrants,comprehend the complicated association between the changing moving motives,destination atmosphere transition and moving trajectory.Having adopted depth interview and observation to attain 25 tourism lifestyle migrants’ moving motives,experience,future plan and living statues in Lijiang Ancient Town,and Nvivo 11 was used to code the dynamic of their lifestyle mobility.Subsequently,classify interviewees’ moving patterns,and explore how destinations push,pull or restrain the migrants’ moving trajectory and future orientation.It turns out that tourism lifestyle migrants in Lijiang Ancient Town are divided into three interconvertible patterns,named “ongoing migration pattern,residential migration pattern and circular migration pattern”.Ongoing migration is the typical period for lifestyle tourism migrants,in this pattern migrants have no specific future plan while showing more possibility in mobility.It is predictable that ongoing migrants will transfer to residential migrants as long as they decide to settle in any place except hometown permanently or circular migrants when they finally confirm return to hometown.Tourism experience,perceived destination image and individual life events more likely irritate the initial mobility for “a better life”.With the transition of destination environment,life atmosphere and migrants’ personal concerns,tourism lifestyle migrants change their moving decision,which show on the moving trajectory and future mobility tendency evidently.As for detailed moving dynamic,life atmosphere and nature environment are the most common and important power for people escape from stressful urban society to peaceful rural town,while the unsatisfying common services restrain these people settle here permanently.Considering the children education and public health services,a great number of interviewees admit that it is hard to ignore the gap between urban cities and rural town,while residential migrants have a more unperturbed attitude.Lifestyle tourism migrants challenge the capacity,stability and homogeneity of the destination,evolve an enclave in the community,and even displace a great deal of local people.As a response,how do the destination or the locals look on these migrants and how they deal with the benefits or concussion accompanied by migrants?Besides,the difference among moving trajectory and future moving plans indicate a profound individual transformation in pursuit,which usually attach to one’s life events,such as marriage and divorce.In some words,life events is the key element for future lifestyle tourism migrants’ moving trajectory. |
