Nowadays,table tennis is widely carried out,and the rules and equipment of table tennis are increasingly updated.As the organizers and law enforcers of the game,table tennis referees need to keep pace with the times and put forward higher requirements for their own professional level.This study is to understand the basic situation of Guangdong Table Tennis referee team,find out the advantages and disadvantages of referees in the process of referee work,find out the areas that need to be improved in the construction of Guangdong Table Tennis referee team,and put forward feasible suggestions,so as to cultivate and develop a more professional and comprehensive referee team.In this paper,347 table tennis referees in Guangdong Province were randomly selected as the research objects.By using the methods of literature review,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics,we analyzed the referees’ level structure,age structure,occupation structure,geographical distribution,work motivation,sports experience,knowledge structure,as well as the referees’ attitude towards the referee’s work,sense of well-being,attitude towards the referee’s work Satisfaction and other aspects of the development of table tennis referees in various regions of Guangdong Province were investigated and analyzed.The results are as follows:1.The structure of demographic variables of table tennis referees in Guangdong Province is basically reasonable: the ratio of male to female is 140.84:100,far lower than the national level of 179:100;The age structure is younger,63.9% of the referees are under 39 years old;The referees with bachelor degree or above accounted for 68.3%;The professional structure of referees does not fluctuate much,and teachers are the main body.2.There are three basic problems in the current table tennis referee team in our province: the development gap of table tennis referees in different regions is large,the number of referees in the Pearl River Delta region accounts for 78.4% of the total number,while the number of referees in eastern,Western and northern Guangdong only accounts for 16.8%;The structure of referees is reasonable,but the proportion of national referees in our province is seriously insufficient,accounting for only 3.7% of the country;The experience of referees is not particularly rich,which shows that the frequency and years of refereeing are low.3.The professional quality of table tennis referees in our province: the referees have a weak sense of scientific research and lack the spirit of research to find and put forward problems;The referee’s English level and computer software level are relatively weak;The professional study of referees needs to be strengthened.4.Most of the functions of the municipal Table Tennis Association in our province have not been transferred,and the relevant provincial management departments are constantly exploring and improving the training system and assessment mechanism of referees in our province.5.The overall referees in our province have high enthusiasm for the work of table tennis referees,have high job satisfaction and professional happiness,but the score of "physical and mental health" is weak in the professional happiness.Based on the current situation of the development of table tennis referees in our province,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the existing problems.1.We should promote the harmonious development of table tennis referees in different regions and train the backbone referees in backward regions;we should build a reasonable referee echelon and strengthen the training of international and national referees.2.Put forward requirements on the frequency of referees’ work,encourage the backbone referees to guide the young referees with the old leading the new;Maintain the existing academic structure,and cultivate compound talents with both referee skills and management ability.3.Strengthen the cultivation of reserve talents of table tennis referees,especially the training of foreign language application and computer arrangement;Organize various forms of scientific research activities to create a good academic atmosphere.4.Fully exchange theoretical study and on-the-spot practice to improve the professional level of referees in our province;Improve the system of regular training,standardized appointment mechanism and scoring record assessment mechanism.5.Increase the humanistic care for referees,improve the professional happiness and job satisfaction of referees in our province.Finally,it is expected that this study can promote Guangdong Table Tennis referees to find a more accurate development direction,and promote the comprehensive quality of table tennis referees in our province to be further improved and optimized.
