| Achievement goal orientation refers to the goal orientation of an individual to engage in various achievement tasks for the purpose of proving oneself or improving oneself.Social adaptation refers to the interaction between individuals and the social environment,ultimately forming a harmonious relationship.During the secondary period,students’ socialization deepens.In view of Students with different achievement goal orientations perform differently in achievement tasks,does it affect the adaptive development of students? There is still little research on the relationship between the two.Therefore,this study investigates the relationship between secondary school student’ achievement goal orientation and social adaptation through questionnaire survey,and try to change the achievement goal orientation and improve social adaptation of students,and help them grow healthily and adapt positively..In this paper,Study 1 aims to explore the current situation and relationship between achievement goal orientation and social adaptation of secondary school students in Chengdu and Chongqing by the Achievement Goal Orientation Scale and the Adolescent Social Adaptation Scale.Study 2 chooses the students in the second year of junior high school as the research object.Design and implemented a achievement goal oriented intervention course,and evaluate the effects of intervention through pretest and post-test experimental design.The study is divided into two sub-studies.The first is a quantitative study,using the Achievement Goal Orientation Scale and the Adolescent Social Adaptation Scale,1,533 middle and high school students from two middle schools in Chengdu and Chongqing were selected as subjects,including 757 boys,776 girls,241 first grade of junior high school students,306 second grade of junior high school students,325 third grade of junior high school,335 first-year high school students,and 326 sophomore in high school,the present situation and relationship of achievement goal orientation and social adaptation of secondary school students were studied.Study 2 is an intervention study.Based on the results of study 1,a curriculum intervention program aimed at the achievement goal orientation of secondary school students was designed,the Second-year junior high school student in four classes were choosed and divided into the experimental group(76 students in 6 and 7 classes)and the control group(72 students in 2 and 5 classes).Intervention was implemented for the experimental group for two months,and the control group did not do any treatment.The two groups of students were posttested and the intervention effect was evaluated.The research results are as follows:(1)the master avoidance goal,master approach goal,and the performance approach goal of secondary school students are at the upper-middle level,and the performance avoidance goal is at the lower-middle level.The order from high to low is master avoidance goal,master approach goal,performance approach goal and performance avoidance goal;there is a difference of the master avoidance goal between girls and boys;there are differences of the master avoidance goal,master approach goal,performance approach goal,and performance avoidance goal between grades;and there are differences of the master approach goal and performance approach goal between left-at-home students and other students.(2)The social adaptation and various dimensions of secondary school students are at the uppermiddle level;there are differences of learning autonomy,Group integration,and acceptance of opinions between girls and boys;there are differences of social adaptation,Learning autonomy,interpersonal harmony,Group integration,environmental satisfaction,acceptance of opinions,pleasant personality,independent life between grades;and there are differences of Group integration,acceptance of opinions,independent life between left-at-home students and other students.(3)Secondary school students’ master approach goal,master avoidance goal,performance approach goal are significantly positively correlated with social adaptation and All;achievement avoidance goal is significantly negatively correlated with social adaptation and it’s dimensions except the independent life;master approach goal and performance approach goal have significant positive prediction for middle students’ social adaptation,and performance avoidance goal have significant negative prediction middle students’ social adaptation.(4)Compared with the control group,the score of master approach goal and social adaptation of the experimental group has been significantly improved after the goal oriented intervention course was implemented.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)The achievement goal orientation of secondary school students is mainly based on master goal orientation.On master avoidance goal,girls are more prominent than boys,and the graduation grade of junior high is more prominent than other grades.Compared with left-behind secondary school students,non-left-behind secondary school students are more in pursuit of good grades and performance.(2)Secondary school students perform well in Learning autonomy,interpersonal harmony,group integration,environmental satisfaction,acceptance of opinions,pleasant personality,independent life.The overall social adaptability is good.Girls are better than boys in learning autonomy,group integration,and acceptance of opinions.The third grade of junior high school had the worst social adjustment under the pressure of graduation.Compared left-behind secondary school students and non-left-behind secondary school students,the companionship of parents may help secondary school students better integrate into groups and accept different views,but it may also reduce the students’ ability to live independently.(3)The achievement goal orientation of secondary school students has an impact on the development of social adaptability.Approach goal and mastery goal are beneficial to the social adaptation’ development of secondary school students.performance avoidance goal has negative influence on the adaptive development of secondary school students.(4)Achievement goal oriented intervention course can change students’ achievement goal orientation,improve students’ master approach goal,and further improve students’ social adaptability. |
