| University governance is the meaning of national governance and increasingly becomes an indispensable part of the national governance system.As an important part of the modern university system,university governance not only includes the relationship between the university,the government and society,but also includes the relationship between the various power subjects of the university itself.The proper solution of these problems is inseparable from the wisdom of the university history.In the university field of the Republic of China,the president,professors and University governance is the meaning of national governance and increasingly becomes an indispensable part of the national governance system.As an important part of the modern university system,university governance not only includes the relationship between the university,the government and society,but also includes the relationship between the various power subjects of the university itself.The proper solution of these problems is inseparable from the wisdom of the university history.In the university field of the Republic of China,presidents,professors and students constituted three factions.The differentiation and combination of these three forces,contradictions and conflicts directly affect the unity and stability of the school.At the same time,the interaction between the university and its external political forces will also affect the survival of the university.In 1925,an agitation broke out in Peking National Teachers College for Women.The reasons for its formation and development are quite complicated,which involves not only the inner part of the university,but also the power game among different interest subjects outside the university.A thorough and detailed study of this disturbance can provide some enlightenment for the governance of modern universities in China.Based on the textual analysis of the archives,newspapers,periodicals,and memoirs of relevant people at that time,this paper makes an in-depth investigation of the occurrence and development process of the agitation in Peking National Teachers College for Women.analyzes its causes,explores the governance dilemma reflected by it,and tries to find the way of university governance.According to the research,the agitation in Peking National Teachers College for Women,can be roughly divided into two stages:"driving Yang" and "opposing Zhang".In the first stage,Yang yinyu was rejected by the student government,which represented the interests of the students,resulting in the conflict between the students and the principal.With the escalation of the conflict,the students defended their rights and interests in the form of ousting the principal,while Yang Yinyu opposed the administrative power of the school.In addition,Yang Yinyu was involved in factional struggle,and the professor of Peking University was behind it,leading to conflicts between teachers and principals.Teachers and students jointly planned to drive Yang,and the trend became more and more intense.In the latter stage,due to the intervention of different political forces,the campus evolved into a battle field of political interests,and the school was in turmoil.A careful investigation of the agitation in Peking National Teachers College for Women,reveals that National Teachers College for Women,is facing serious internal and external difficulties in governance.The inner dilemma is the conflict between the principal and the students,the conflict between the principal and the part-time professors,and the factional conflict in the educational circle.The external dilemma is that in the process of different political forces competing for the leadership of higher education,female normal universities are difficult to stay out of the situation.In the game between different forces,it is difficult to stay stable.By reviewing the whole process of the agitation in Peking National Teachers College for Women,the following problems have emerged,which should also be paid attention to in the current university governance:first,the power imbalance between the president and the professor;Second,the conflict between student autonomy and school management;Third,the contradiction between political intervention and university autonomy.Proper handling of these problems plays an important role in optimizing university governance. |
