Pingmin School of Peking University is a school that provides staffs that come fromlogistics group of company of Peking University (hereafter logistics’ staffs) with educationsand trainings. In fact, this school does not just begin in recent years, and it can be dated fromits two predecessors, one is the "Night Training Class for Staffs", which was established in1918and organized by a president of Peking University, Cai Yuanpei, another is "NightTraining Class for Civilian", which was found by a Student Union under the leader of DengZhongxai and Liao Shucang in1920. Due to the serious war situation and turbulent society,these schools were not operated until2006when the Research Group from institutes ofeducation of Peking University begun their program," continuing education and training forrural migrant workers ".Because of this Research Group’s suggestions, these two schoolsbegin their operation and renamed " Pingmin School of Peking University " under theguidance of Peking University.In this paper, I take the Pingmin School of Peking University as an object of study forthe reason that it has rich experience in teaching and training for the logistics’ staffs.Moreover, it forms a unique model, called Pingmin education model, a special continuingeducation for773staffs of logistics group of company. Most important of all, this educationmodel will play a significant role and give a better reference for logistics’ staffs of otheruniversities.In this paper, the history, current status, operation, management, and the effectiveness ofthe curriculum and teaching of Pingmin School of Peking University were elaborated andsummarized on the basis of its successful experience, which produces some pieces ofenlightenment in the continuing education of logistics’ staffs of other universities were given:Firstly, clearly understand and know the significant of continuing education for theuniversity logistics’ staffs;Secondly, continuing education needs analysis should be done before operatingcontinuing education; Thirdly, fully integrate and utilize teaching resource, reducing the costs of continuingeducation of university logistics;Fourthly, improve continuing education curriculum base on the logistic staffs’ interestsand staffs’ needs;Finally, shall innovate ways of teaching methods in continuing education.
