| Academic procrastination generally exists in the student group,which leads to low academic achievement and a series of negative emotions,affecting students’ physical and mental health development.The academia generally believe that academic procrastination is due to the failure of self-regulation.On the basis of verifying this conclusion,this paper wants to explore the internal psychological factors of academic procrastination.This study introduces two variables:psychological flexibility and self-regulated learning,explores the relationships between academic procrastination,psychological flexibility and self-regulated learning,and further seeks new ways to improve academic procrastination.On the basis of domestic and foreign scholars’ research on academic procrastination,study 1 was conducted by questionnaires from 642 students of two junior middle schools in Taizhou,Jiangsu Province.Study 2 was conducted by group counseling centered on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to intervene academic procrastination.Finally,the following results are obtained:(1)There are significant differences in the academic procrastination level of junior high school students in grade,origin,achievement level and parents’ educational level.(2)Psychological flexibility is negatively correlated with academic procrastination.self-regulated learning is negatively correlated with academic procrastination,and psychological flexibility is positively correlated with self-regulated learning.(3)Self-regulated learning plays a mediating role in psychological flexibility and academic procrastination.(4)Acceptance and Commitment Therapy plays a positive role in improving students’academic procrastination.Conclusion:In this study,academic procrastination is common among junior high school students,but it is not serious.Junior high school students have high psychological flexibility and strong self-regulated learning ability.Psychological flexibility can directly predict academic procrastination,and can also improve academic procrastination by affecting self-regulated learning.Individuals with high psychological flexibility can accept emotions,firm goals,reasonably use various strategies,avoid avoidance and reduce procrastination when facing learning tasks.It is feasible and effective to improve psychological flexibility through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,so as to improve self-regulated learning level and reduce academic procrastination,which plays a positive role in promoting the physical and mental health development of adolescents. |
