| With the development of information society, the network and people’s daily life are inseparable, the computer network has become a new crime site.Due to the concealment and confusion of network crimes, many people often make mistakes in the process of using the network, which brings the consequences of money loss and information disclosure to individuals. The users as the most unstable link in the use of computers, the improvement of users’ awareness of cybersecurity has become a very important topic in the field of cybersecurity.Early studies on users’ cybersecurity awareness mostly adopted interview method, which made it difficult to measure the differences of participants’ cybersecurity awareness and the level of the participants’ cybersecurity awareness. In recent years, some scholars have introduced the paradigm of Bayesian Reasoning into the research of cybersecurity, trying to provide objective indicators for cybersecurity. For example,Brase used this paradigm to explore the impact of mental models on participants’ cybersecurity behaviors under different contexts. However, this study focuses on the application of quantitative paradigm and does not further consider the influence of context presentation, nor does it consider the influencing factors of users’ cybersecurity awareness in combination with the stage of mental model construction.Considering the college students’ Internet use behavior more frequently, and curiosity is strong, this study chose college students as the participants, based on the common cybersecurity research contexts, selected more discriminative presentation of context, investigated the effect mechanism of questioning method and critical thinking ability on the influence of context on college students’ cybersecurity awareness.Specifically,on the basis of the existing studies, this study selected presentation of context that could better highlight the role of mental models through pre-experiments.In the understanding and description stage of mental model construction, conceptual understanding of context and clear cognition of data relations are the premise for decision making. Therefore,in Experiment 1,we adopt 2(questioning mode: one-step questioning,four-step questioning)×4(context: disease, crime, physical aggression, and cybersecurity)between-subjects design to analyze the influence of different contexts and questioning methods on cybersecurity awareness.Experiment 2 based on the basis of the experiment 1,chose the crime context that significantly improve cybersecurity awareness, with the cybersecurity context as the control text, using 2(context: crime, cybersecurity)× 2(questioning method: one-step questions, four questions)× 2(critical thinking ability: high,low)between-subjects design, further discussed in the whole stage of mental model construction(including validation of reflection),the promoting effect of crime context and critical thinking ability of main factors in the model construction. The experimental results show that:(1)Context is a factor affecting college students’ awareness of cybersecurity, which may be related to arousing people’s cognitive experience and thinking mode and thus affecting their awareness of cybersecurity. The participants’ awareness of cybersecurity is the best in crime context.(2)The four-step questioning promote the participants’ processing of thinking and enhance the awareness of cybersecurity.(3)Compared with participants with low critical thinking ability, participants with high critical thinking ability have higher awareness of network security, and in crime context, participants with high critical thinking ability have the highest cybersecurity awareness. In conclusion, college students’ awareness of cybersecurity is generally low.In the future,we can understand cybersecurity through mental models constructed in different contexts, and we can also promote the understanding of cybersecurity by questioning method,so as to improve college students’ awareness of cybersecurity. |
