While creativeness is the soul of the 21st century and creative people the mainstay,creative thinking is the soul of "soul",the prop of "prop". The cultivation of creativity is essentially required in Secondary School Chinese Teaching,which has ignored creativeness for a long time. Then how? The present author thinks that Lu Xun's critical thinking is a great inspiration to our Chinese teaching.Lu Xun's critical thinking is a free and open way of thinking with independent thinking as its basic feature. It is mainly manifested in his awareness of questioning and being unique. Lu Xun's striking questioning awareness can be seen in his works and his view on life and language. And his distinctive awareness of personality is embodied in his deep love of freedom,his novel writing style and his outstanding teaching. The development of Lu Xun's critical thinking is mainly influenced by two groups of factors:congenital (heredity) and postnatal (family,society,teachers and books,etc.). as any other people,Lu Xun inherited some traits of character from his family. Special place nurtures special people. Shao Xing,Lu Xun's hometown is the soil where his critical thinking grows. And the social environment,the people he met,his teachers and the books he read all contribute to the development of his thoughts directly or indirectly.The primary drive in writing this paper is to make use of Lu Xun's critical thinking in Secondary School Chinese Teaching,especially in fostering creative thinking. Corresponding to the expression of Lu Xun's critical thinking,its enlightment on the cultivation of creative thinking also covers two aspects,i.e. to cultivate students' sharp awareness of questioning and being unique. The two characters are not only the expression of his critical thinking but also the permanentspring of his creative spirit. Above all,they are the treasure we need to find back and cherish in the new century. The ways to cultivate the two characters are:1. to make full use of the textbook.2. to develop democratic and individualized teachers.3. to provide students a free environment.The first way puts emphasis on the learning of Lu Xun 's questioning awareness through reading and writing,while the last two focus on the creation of a good and favorable environment.
