| A sense of responsibility,an important role in modeling citizen’s personalities,is an important quality for people.Cultivating students’ sense of responsibility is the main goal and task of education in China.Teenagers are in the early stage of the formation of moral personality,which is also an important period for the formation and development of a sense of responsibility.Based on the theory of social cognition and the perspective of the ecosystem,the family,the micro-environment unit that the individual first contacts,surely influences their path of growing and parenting.Moreover,as one of the significant ways affecting children’s growth,parenting style does have an important role in the development of students’ sense of responsibility in primary school.Likewise,self-efficacy a variable that is subject to individuals’ ability,and it can also be influenced by the way how parents parenting their children.All in all,it may have a driving effect on his attitude and behavior,affecting the formation of a sense of responsibility for the primary students.To empirically explore the relationship between the three features,this study conducted a questionnaire survey among 391 senior students in three primary schools from Tianxin District,Changsha City,aiming to investigate the characteristics and relationships of parenting style,primary school students’ sense of responsibility as well as self-efficacy.By adopting SPSS and AMOS to analyze the characteristics and correlation of the returned questionnaires,together with testing the mediating role of self-efficacy between parental rearing style and sense of responsibility and gender differences,the main results are shown as follows:1.Gender differences exist in the sense of responsibility and self-efficacy of senior grade students in primary schools.Among them,the score of female students is higher than that of male ones,and it is significant.2.Parental rearing style is firmly related to the sense of responsibility of senior grade students in the primary stage.Among them,the positive parenting style is positively correlated with the self-efficacy of senior grade students in primary school,while the negative parenting style is negatively correlated with the self-efficacy.3.The sense of self-efficacy of senior grade primary school students is correlated with their sense of responsibility and how they have been raised.4.The self-efficacy of senior graders shows a mediating effect on the relationship between parental rearing style and the sense of responsibility.Moreover,the mediating model has gender differences.For example,boys’ self-efficacy only plays a partial role between parents’ positive parenting style and their sense of responsibility.Nevertheless,it has no significant role in mediating parents’ negative parenting style and their sense of responsibility.Though the self-efficacy of female students plays a partial mediating role between the positive parenting style and the sense of responsibility,it has a complete role in mediating the negative parenting style and the sense of responsibility.Conclusion :1.There are gender differences in the sense of responsibility and self-efficacy of senior grade primary school students.2.Parental rearing style is related to self-efficacy and sense of responsibility of senior grade students in primary school.3.The self-efficacy of senior grade primary school students plays a mediating role between parental rearing style and their sense of responsibility;there was a gender difference in the mediating effect. |
