Educational fairness is the greatest fairness.As the starting point of lifelong education,preschool education fairness has always been the focus of attention from all walks of life.In recent years,Chinese preschool education has made remarkable results in resource allocation,popularization level and management system.However,the uneven distribution of preschool education resources,uneven urban and regional development,the cost sharing and operation guarantee mechanism of preschool education are not constructed yet,the preschool education is still the pain point in the field of people livelihood and education.Different from other educational stages,the factors that affect access to preschool are more come from family background.This study focuses on whether family capital causes inequality of opportunities in preschool education? Has the process of cultural reproduction already begun to emerge from the preschool stage? This paper discusses the relationship with preschool education opportunities from the economic,cultural,social and political from the family background,trying to provide the basis of preschool education opportunities and how to use family capital and policy efforts to improve the probability of access to preschool education.The research mainly focuses on whether family capital is one of the reasons for the inequality of opportunities in preschool education,including:(1)Can family capital predict preschool education opportunities?(2)Will different dimensions results in different predictive effects ?(3)Will the relationship between preschool education opportunities and family capital present different results in household registration and gender? We used the baseline data of the China Education Panel Survey(CEPS),and used the binary logistic regression model to make empirical analysis.The main conclusions are:(1)Family capital can significantly predict preschool education opportunities and present different results in different dimensions.(2)Economic capital significantly positively predicts preschool education opportunities,and in the case of other dimensions of family capital,the prediction effect of preschool education opportunities shows a weakening trend.(3)Cultural capital significantly positively predicts preschool education opportunities,and presents significant differences in household registration and gender.The prediction effect of family cultural capital on rural household registration is greater than urban household registration,girls are higher than boys.(4)Social capital is significantly forward to predicting preschool education opportunities,and with the improvement of the social status represented by the parents ’ occupations,the prediction effect values show different results.The predictive effect value of family social capital on preschool education opportunities also showed significant differences in household registration,and the probability of children from rural household families obtaining preschool education opportunities is significantly lower than in towns.(5)Political capital is significantly positive in predicting preschool education opportunities.Based on the results of empirical analysis,we presents corresponding strategies and suggestions to promote the fairness of preschool education opportunities.Drawing from international experience,from the perspective of family capital,several suggestions on promoting equal opportunities of preschool education and the healthy development of preschool education are: government as preschool public service provider,need to accelerate the construction of preschool education law in China,identify and safeguard the preschool rights of disadvantaged groups;Moreover,from the perspective of family economic capital,to compensate for the economic disadvantage of the families,suggest that the government coordinate the finance of preschool education,play the leading role of in preschool education,improve the cost-sharing mechanism of preschool education;From the dimensions of family cultural capital,It is suggested that the state,society and individuals pay importance to and cultivate family cultural capital which promote fair opportunities for preschool education further.
