The large number and complex structure of the unemployed play an extremely important role in social harmony and political stability. There are some problems in the research on the differences of political trust between the unemployed and the others, such as a small number of studies, unclear division of its internal structure and so on.Based on the data of Chinese Social Survey(CSS),this paper analyzes and compares the differences of political trust between the unemployed and other professional classes in 2006 and 2017,and the reasons.Rational choice path and social cultural path are competitive theories for analyzing the influencing factors of political trust. This paper attempts to explore the causes of the differences in political trust between different classes through the social cultural theory and rational choice theory. In addition, the internal differences of the unemployed have an important impact on the political trust. In this paper, according to the subjective initiative in the unemployed choice, the unemployed is divided into active unemployed, domestic workers, passive unemployed and other unemployed. It is found that with the deepening of social reform, the difference of political trust between the unemployed and other classes has changed.Secondly, the level of political trust of all professional classes has declined, and the decline of political trust of the unemployed is significantly smaller than that of other professional classes, and this difference is due to the active unemployed.Thirdly, the explanation of rational choice theory to the class differences of political trust is not stable;while the explanation of government authority recognition advocated by social and cultural theory to the class differences of political trust between the unemployed and other classes is persistent and stable. This will help us to have a more systematic and complete understanding of the class differences of political trust, especially the political trust of the unemployed.
