The high school stage is a key stage in the growth and development of students,and the college entrance examination is also an important turning point in life.Study and examinations occupy most of the life of high school students.The study and examinations of high school students are affected by many factors and test anxiety is one of them.Many studies have shown that different levels of test anxiety will have different effects on the academic performance and mental health of high school students.There are many factors influencing test anxiety,among which perceived social support and psychological capital play an important role.High school students are in their mid-teens and their mental independence is not yet perfect.External support plays a crucial role in their mentality and behavior.Social support can not only provide positive emotional support for individuals,enhance the affirmation of individual self-worth,and have a universal benefit for individuals,but also promote positive emotional experience by influencing young people’s emotions,cognition and behavior,and reduce individual’s test anxiety.In addition,individuals with high psychological capital have more positive psychological resources to face test anxiety.Based on previous studies,it can be speculated that social support and psychological capital will affect the test performance of high school students,which is closely related to test anxiety.Therefore,when individuals are facing test anxiety,how to use the social support around them and how psychological capital works to help them better cope with test anxiety are the questions that this research needs to investigate.And on the basis of this research,we used group psychological counseling to help them discover the positive psychological qualities of the individual,and tried to improve the psychological capital of high school students and relieve test anxiety.The first study used a questionnaire survey method to investigate 764 high school students in a remote mountainous middle school in Sichuan Province,aiming to explore the mediating role of psychological capital in high school students’ perceived social support and test anxiety.The second study selected 11 second-year high school students for group intervention on the basis of study one,in an attempt to improve the psychological capital of high school students and reduce test anxiety.The results of the study found:(1)The level of high school students’ perceived social support is above the middle;the level of psychological capital of high school students is above the middle;the level of test anxiety of high school students is at middle level.High school students’ perceived social support,psychological capital and test anxiety have significant differences in demographic variables.High school students’ perceived social support is significantly and negatively correlated with test anxiety;psychological capital is significantly and negatively correlated with test anxiety;high school students’ perceived social support is significantly and positively correlated with psychological capital.(2)The perceived social support and psychological capital of high school students can significantly and negatively predict test anxiety.The psychological capital of high school students plays a partial mediating role between the perceived social support and test anxiety.(3)Group psychological counseling can effectively improve the psychological capital level of high school students,but the improvement of psychological capital cannot significantly reduce test anxiety.
