Establish The Mindfulness Of Life-An Action Research On Intervention To A Master In University Who Has Suicidal Ideation

This article takes a master of Z University who has suicidal ideation as the research object to explore practical methods and intervention strategies for social work.Under the perspective of Crisis Intervention Theory and ABC Theory,conduct action research on the client with the relevant skills of casework.The specific action research process mainly draws on the five-link research framework of action research proposed by Gerald Susman in 1983.This framework consists of diagnosis,action planning,action planning promotion,evaluation,and summarizing the experience.The promotion of the action plan is mainly divided into three periods.The pre-intervention stage is the crisis intervention stage,mainly to assist the client through the dangerous period of suicidal ideation through mindfulness-breathing training,companion listening,life history review and signing a non-self-injury agreement to ensure that the research subjects will not further commit suicide;The mid-stage is the cognitive behavioral therapy stage.This stage is mainly to correct the irrational cognition of the client by learning the ABC Theory,identifying irrational beliefs,arguing with irrational beliefs,and reconstructing rational thinking;The later stage of intervention is the stage of consolidation and promotion.This stage helps the client return to normal life by linking resources to the client to clarify graduation requirements,suggesting to participate in life and health lectures,repairing the parent-child relationship,and regaining interests and hobbies.In the whole intervention process,the author mainly played the role of a direct service provider（therapist）and indirect service provider（resource linker）.Social workers should pay attention to four principles in the process of intervention: intervening promptly and actively,peer intervening,helping clients to help themselves and focusing on the client.Finally,through reflections on research action research,we found that there are three areas that we need to be focused on.First,life and health education are essential in the intervention of suicide ideation for graduate students.Social workers can encourage families,schools,and society to carry out all-around life education;Secondly,bad mentoring relationship is the reason that affects suicidal ideation and other extreme behavior.Social work can take the improvement of discordant tutoring relations as a breakthrough point in the suicide problem of graduate students;Finally,social workers should pay more attention to the application of the principles of encouragement,empathy,and sincerity in the practical process to continuously improve professional ability.
