The development of narrative ability has important significance for the development of reading,cognition,society,etc.,and at the same time,it is also an important part of language development.In the early childhood period of 3-6 years old,its main narrative method is oral narrative,so it is necessary to improve the narrative ability of young children.We know that in terms of reading,young children mainly read picture books under the guidance of teachers,so how teachers guide children to understand stories in reading and improve the ability to tell stories has become a major problem,so this study mainly explores the impact on children’s narrative ability after the use of mind maps as a learning tool for picture book teaching activities.Under this research background,this study takes children’s narrative ability and a large class of children in Harbin.First,use the wordless picture storybook Frog,Where are you? To measure the narrative ability development level of children in a large class,Colorful spectral language evaluation criteria are also used to score children’s narrative level,To understand the current children’s narrative ability development level;then,They were randomly divided into experimental and control groups,The experimental group tells the story of picture books with the help of mind mapping,The control group carried out the normal picture book teaching activities of reading pictures,All last for 8 weeks;next,After eight weeks of picture book teaching activities,Similarly,the development level of children’s narrative ability is measured,SPSS 26.0 data processing software was used to analyze the pre and posterior data of the experimental and control groups,And to conduct related interviews with the partner teachers,To explore the influence of mind mapping on the narrative ability of big class young children,Thus,the experimental conclusion: with the help of mind mapping can improve children’s narrative ability,Especially for the big class children "story structure","appropriate theme" and "story length" these three dimensions have a significant promotion effect.Finally,this study aims to improve the narrative ability of kindergarten children with the help of mind maps,and puts forward the following suggestions from the kindergarten level,the teacher level and the parent level: from the teacher level,we should pay attention to the comprehensiveness of the development of children’s narrative ability,pay attention to teaching according to their aptitudes,carry out a variety of mind map teaching activities,and encourage children to express themselves boldly in relaxed play situations;from the kindergarten level,improve the status of mind map teaching in kindergarten teaching activities and strengthen the connection with parents;from the parent level,Parent-child reading activities with the help of mind maps should be carried out in the family to help children accumulate life experience and improve narrative ability.
