Labor is the most basic human practice,is the way of human existence.Labor has not only created mankind itself,but also created and will continue to create all the material and spiritual wealth needed by mankind.Therefore,the importance of labor education is beyond doubt.The academic circles often regard labor education as an abstract term and ignore the substantial body carrier of labor education,which leads to the alienation of labor education in practice.Either labor education is regarded as knowledge education or labor education is regarded as a means of control.Labor education in kindergarten is at the beginning of children’s life,and its influence on children is lifelong and irreversible.Therefore,from the perspective of body sociology,this study goes deep into the educational field of kindergarten,analyzes the reality of labor education in kindergarten from multiple perspectives,and investigates children’s feelings and experiences of labor education through their body perception,so as to urge people to reflect on the value and purpose of labor education.This study selected a township kindergarten in S Town,H District,G City as the research object(YL Kindergarten,hereinafter referred to as Y Kindergarten),and conducted observation and interview for more than two months on all the children and teachers in class X of Y Kindergarten.Through observation,research and perspective analysis,it is found that labor education in Y Garden is mainly manifested in three value orientations: the first is self-care labor limited by space and discipline orientation,which is reflected in training children’s self-care ability through strict physical restrictions;The second is the planting labor of open space and free orientation,in which children get pleasure and beauty;The third is the manual labor of creation orientation.Children get different physical conditions due to the difference of ability level.Among them,teachers’ labor education concept and educational ability are the key factors.In the interaction with teachers,children present obedient,rebellious,evasive and ignorant behavior coping patterns.From observation,labor education in kindergartens has the following problems: labor is stigmatized,the body is hidden;Teachers loyal to the timetable,strengthen the children’s physical discipline and control;"Chicken baby" mentality weakened children’s physical input in labor;The excessively detailed division of labor hinders children’s learning of labor education;The narrow working space dispels children’s working experience.In order to truly implement the national labor education policy and realize the value concept of labor education,this study puts forward the following suggestions :(1)rethink the goal of labor education for children and establish the educational concept of integrating body and mind;(2)Respect children’s physical and mental laws and flexibly arrange teaching time;(3)Do a good job in home communication and guide parents to focus on children’s lifelong development;(4)Clear labor teaching process,pay attention to children’s overall grasp of labor education content;(5)Enrich the working space and give children a pleasant physical experience.In order to promote the smooth development of kindergarten labor education.
