Case Intervention Of Interpersonal Communication Obstacles Of Urban Elderly Living Alone From The Perspective Of Social Support Theory

With the gradual improvement of people’s living standards,the problem of population aging in China is becoming more and more serious,and the problems related to the elderly are becoming more and more diverse.The rapid aging of the population,the acceleration of population mobility,the change of family structure and other factors have led to the continuous increase in the number of elderly people living alone,and the number of "pure elderly families" has gradually increased.Due to the decline of physiological function and the lack of family and social support,the elderly living alone are prone to problems and obstacles in interpersonal communication,which has an adverse impact on their elderly life.This study takes an elderly person living alone in the author’s community as the research object,evaluates the problems and needs of the research object,finds out the interpersonal communication obstacles of the elderly in physiology,cognition and communication,and further analyzes the causes of their interpersonal communication obstacles.Through home visits and interviews,measure and analyze the existing social support of the service object,and finally choose to intervene in social work practice in the form of case service to help the research object overcome interpersonal obstacles and realize normal interpersonal activities.Based on the theoretical perspective of social support,this paper uses the general model of case service to intervene the interpersonal barriers of the elderly living alone in urban communities.According to the results of the problem and demand assessment,the author designed a service plan to communicate and interact with the service object’s children,neighbors,community workers and volunteers through six cases,and then evaluate the changes of the service object in interpersonal communication.Social support generally refers to the spiritual support and material help that individuals can obtain from all levels of society.This paper uses the social support evaluation scale compiled by Xiao Shuiyuan to evaluate the social support of the research object.In the process of case service,the author connects the social resources of the elderly living alone to help them establish a friendly social support system,so as to realize positive interpersonal communication in the social support network.Finally,summarize the case service and professional reflection,find out the deficiencies and promote further improvement,so as to help improve the interpersonal barriers of the urban elderly living alone.
