| High school students in the process of growth and development will face external and internal pressure or challenges,lack of problem-solving experience often makes them at a loss,and will cause psychological conflict,seriously affect their mental health,and positive coping style can make them less encounter psychological crisis,to promote their growth and development,therefore,research into the high school students coping style is very necessary.There are many factors affect high school students’ coping style,social support and general self-efficacy are two important factors.Based on this,this study was conducted on high school students to discuss the social support corresponding mechanism and the intermediary effect of self-efficacy,at the same time,through the group counseling to improve the level of high school students’ social support,to promote the general self-efficacy and help them adopt positive way to solve the problem,in order to promote the growth and development of high school students.The study included two parts.Study 1 was a questionnaire study,and 538 students from a high school in Qianjiang city were recruited as subjects.Among them,253 boys,accounting for 47.03% of total number of subjects,average age is 15.15 ±0.592;285 girls,accounting for 52.97% of total number of subjects,average age is15.04 ± 0.530.The questionnaire survey was conducted using Youth Social Support Scale,General Self-efficacy Questionnaire,and Questionnaire for Coping Style.Study 2 was a social support group counseling intervention study.34 students(18boys and 16 girls)who enrolled voluntarily were randomly divided into experimental and control groups.Eight group counseling intervention sessions were conducted in the experimental group,and the control group had regular classes.The questionnaire in Study 1 was used to test the two groups of subjects.Both the two groups were tested for the effectiveness of group counseling by comparing the differences between the experimental group and the control group before and after the intervention.The main conclusions of the study are as follows:(1)There are significant demographic differences in high school students’ coping style.In terms of gender,boys adopt more problem solving and reasonable coping methods,while girls adopt more negative coping methods such as self-blame.In the source of students,high school students from urban areas use more active coping style such as problem-solving and help-seeking.(2)The general self-efficacy level of high school boys was significantly higher than that of girls,and the general self-efficacy level of students from urban areas was significantly higher than that of students from towns.(3)Social support and general self-efficacy of high school students are significantly and positively correlated with positive coping methods such as problem-solving and help-seeking,and significantly and negatively correlated with negative coping style such as self-blame and escape.(4)Social support can positively predict positive coping style such as problem solving,and negatively predict coping style such as self-blame and escape.General self-efficacy plays a partial intermediary role between social support,problem solving,self-blame and escape.(5)Group tutoring can significantly improve the overall level of social support and support utilization level of high school students,and thus promote the improvement of general self-efficacy and the adoption of more positive coping style. |
