Thriving youths lead to a thriving nation;strong youths lead to a strong country.Contemporary youth are the promoters of social development. Its value orientation and psychological state can play an inestimable role in the mentality of the whole society. With the increasing number of people living alone year by year,"empty-nest youth" has become a term that can reflect the survival status of youth groups.Previous studies believe that "empty-nest youth" refers to a group with "empty-nest" living space and "hollow" spiritual state. The main concerns about the "empty-nest youth" is that living alone for a long time can make young people in a continuous "hollow" state, leading to the improvement of their independence and loneliness. This may make it difficult for them to integrate into society and then lead to their separation from society. In this study, through semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, the data of "empty-nest youth" in Inner Mongolia were collected, and its causes, living conditions and difficulties were discussed. On this basis, the thinking of dealing with unidirectionality in the process of China’s social development was made. This study is mainly divided into five chapters. In the introduction, firstly, the problems and significance of this study were introduced, then the literature review related to the study content of this study and the definition of relevant core concepts were introduced, and finally, the study methods and theoretical perspectives of this study were described. It mainly covered the theoretical basis, study contents and study methods of this study. In the first chapter, the housing causes and basic situation of "empty-nest youth" were described. In the second chapter, the sorting and analysis of survey of interpersonal communication, network dependence, marriage intention and consumption were carried out.The study results are as follows: Most of the "empty-nest youth" aged 20-42 choose to live alone actively or passively under the influence of life.Work needs and the pursuit of freedom are the main factors for them to choose to live alone. Most of them have significant interpersonal problems, strong network dependence, fear of marriage and even reluctance to get married. However, this situation can gradually become optimistic due to the longer time of living alone,or gradually rationalize and habituate the dilemma due to the extension of time. They will no longer regard this phenomenon as a problem of life.In addition, from the perspective of consumption, most people mainly choose to buy a product from Internet celebrities or bloggers, and they prefer to choose products with discounts or coupons. For them, seemingly intentional random behavior is actually a purchase behavior inadvertently guided by the merchant. In the third chapter, combined with the survey content of the second chapter, the difficulties in interpersonal communication, network dependence, marriage and consumption were summarized, and a comprehensive interpretation was made in combination with theory. In the fourth chapter, combined with the study of the whole youth group, the unidirectional risk of "empty-nest youth" was expressed. In the fifth chapter, this study was summarized, and the deficiencies, suggestions and countermeasures of the study were put forward. At the beginning of young people’s solitary life,it is very important to correctly guide the interpersonal relationships and life diversification of solitary people, and encourage them to go out of their homes and the shackles of the Internet. In this process, youth groups should also cultivate dialectical thinking mode, firm cultural inheritance, and establish correct values.
