| Universities are an important part of regional knowledge innovation system,which not only bear the mission of delivering scientific and technological talents for building an innovative country,but also shoulder the responsibility of leading regional economic development.It is of certain practical significance to evaluate the scientific research performance of universities to reflect the current situation of regional knowledge innovation system construction and guide the future development direction of university scientific research.In recent years,the state has continuously increased the investment in innovation resources,and the scientific research performance of universities has become a key concern of the society.Therefore,it is necessary to make an objective and comprehensive evaluation of the dynamic changes and influencing factors of the scientific research innovation performance of universities in each province,region and city in China,so as to realize the reasonable allocation of educational resources and meet the universities to better serve the regional economy.This thesis collects data on research and innovation inputs and outputs of universities in31 provinces,cities and autonomous regions of China from 2016 to 2020.Firstly,static analysis of university research performance based on DEA-BCC model and super-efficient DEA model.The research results show that the comprehensive technical efficiency values of universities in the last five years are not high and the regional distribution differences are obvious,and there is some room for improvement of research performance level.Then,the Malmquist index method was applied to evaluate the change trend of university research performance dynamically,and the research results showed that the overall research innovation performance of universities in 31 provinces,cities and autonomous regions in China showed an increasing trend,and the efficiency of technological change was the main driving force of performance growth.On this basis,a discussion of Chinese provinces by regions shows that the research performance of universities in western regions is higher than that in eastern and central regions in recent years.The reason for this phenomenon is that the internal research management system of universities in the western region is developing and improving,while the universities in the eastern and central regions lack reasonable planning resulting in the accumulation and waste of resources.Finally,in order to investigate the factors affecting the scientific research performance of universities,this thesis constructs a Tobit model for regression analysis from five perspectives: economic development level,education investment,university research talents,research development degree and teachers’ title structure.Based on the empirical results,several suggestions are proposed to improve the scientific research innovation performance of universities by enhancing education investment,establishing a reasonable system of industryuniversity-research,strengthening teachers’ performance assessment,improving the scientific research performance management mechanism,and optimizing the internal organizational structure. |
