A Case Study On Case Management Of The Elderly Who Lost Their Only Child In City

The physical and mental care of the elderly who lost their only child in the city is one of the hot issues in contemporary society.This study is a case study based on the internship experience in M institution in Beijing and interviews with resident social workers and the elderly.Since the service project of M institution to Y community is an experimental project,M institution first conducted a survey of the status quo of the elderly who lost their only child,evaluated their needs in the process of supporting their children,and then provided management services for the elderly who lost their only child,Z.By evaluating found lost alone facing a sick old man Z unattended,and fracture in depressed emotional fragile,the social interaction multiple life predicament,so in the lost old man alone Z in the process of case management,by helping director link community hospitals,alone the homogeneous population,social organizations and volunteers resources and meet their basic life care,medical,mental comfort requirements,etc.Positive results have been achieved.Through this study,it is concluded that case management has certain advantages in involving the elderly who lost their only child,and the improvement of professionals’ ability,the participation of multiple subjects and the coordination of external resources are important factors to ensure the effectiveness of case management services.
