In the 1970s,China began to widely implement the one-child policy, advocating that "a couple should have only one child.Since its introduction, this policy has achieved a series of successes, effectively controlling population growth and alleviating population and resource constraints, but at the same time,one-child families face more risks than ordinary families, with a series of causes such as suicide, crime, accidents, illness, etc. The death of an only child puts families in multiple difficulties, resulting in the creation of families without children. As society continues to develop, population aging is becoming a global issue and an important national issue for China.Against this background, and because of the uniqueness of the elderly who have lost their lives, the elderly who have lost their lives are facing a crisis of self-efficacy in addition to the problems of aging. Therefore,it is imperative to pay attention to the physical and mental health of the elderly. The author had a five-month internship in a social work agency in Beijing, during which she came into contact with Gai,and found that Gai’s self-efficacy was low through the General Self-Efficacy Scale. After analysis,I found that the causes were mainly physical distress, psychological trauma, disintegration of the family structure and the influence of social stereotypes and ageism.Based on this, the author proposes to enhance the self-efficacy of the elderly who have lost their independence as the intervention point.Under the guidance of the enrichment theory, she proposes to enrich the individual, interpersonal relationship and environment at three levels, and combines the intervention with the casework method to help the clients improve their negative emotions and cultivate a positive attitude towards life;change irrational cognition and improve the ability to learn and change;establish emotional support and provide a social platform;adjust social relationships and enhance The author’s approach is to help clients improve their negative emotions and develop positive attitudes;change their rational cognition and improve their ability to learn and change;build emotional support and provide a social platform;adjust their social relationships and enhance their social skills;build a community support network and improve the quality of community services to further enhance their self-efficacy and help them have a better and happier life in their old age.The author re-measured by the General Self-Efficacy Scale and found that Gai’s self-efficacy was significantly improved, indicating that the social work intervention was effective in improving self-efficacy,and finally the author summarized and reflected on this study.
