Homework is an important part of the implementation of each teacher’s curriculum, reasonable design of homework can deepen students’ understanding of the knowledge learned, play an important role in consolidating knowledge,high-quality homework can continuously improve students’ learning ability and promote students’ development. However, there are many problems in the design of mathematics homework in senior grades, such as the basic unity of the content of mathematics homework and the lack of certain pertinence;the form of homework is single, mainly written homework, and lack of certain interest. At present, the phenomenon of "one-size-fits-all" homework arrangement is becoming more and more serious, and this traditional homework method does not take into account the differences between different students and does not implement the teaching concept of teaching according to talents. The new curriculum reform requires teachers to fully consider the personality of students when designing homework, and design different homework according to the knowledge base, learning ability, speed of completing homework, interest and personality characteristics of different students,so as to give full play to students’ learning initiative, mobilize students’ enthusiasm for learning, and promote students’ all-round development. At the same time,in the 2021 double reduction policy issued by the State Council, the education department requires that the burden of homework and off-campus training of students in the compulsory education stage be reduced, and the student-centered approach is adhered to and student differences are concerned.Layered homework can be reasonably arranged according to the differences of students, which can reduce students’ homework writing time, increase the fun of homework, and thus reduce the pressure on students. Therefore,it is very important to properly design hierarchical operations and effectively implement layered operations.Based on the humanistic learning theory, the classification theory of teaching objectives, and the theory of zone of proximal development, this paper conducts a questionnaire survey on the fifth grade pupils of s primary school in Mudanjiang City and interviews with the fifth grade teachers by using the methods of literature, questionnaire and interview,To understand the teachers’ attitude towards hierarchical homework and the implementation suggestions, and to understand the problems existing in the current primary school senior mathematics homework, including the "one size fits all" model adopted in homework design, lack of difference and pertinence, etc.Through the experimental method, two classes in grade five of s primary school in Mudanjiang city are taken as the experimental objects. One class is the experimental class.According to the students’ knowledge base, learning ability, speed of completing homework, interest, personality characteristics and so on,the homework is stratified. The other class is the control class, and the homework is uniformly arranged. The stratified homework experimental research is carried out for half a year.Experimental results show that the hierarchical homework improves the completion of students’ homework, improves students’ learning ability, innovation ability and practical ability to a certain extent, and develops good learning habits. In the process of completing the homework, the students’ confidence is gradually improved and the students’ interest in mathematical learning is improved.
