Since the reform and opening up,China's economy has achieved rapid development under the promotion of policy orientation, market mechanism and made remarkable achievements. With the progress of human society, urbanization has become an irresistible trend. The Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration plays an important role in the process of China's economic development, and the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta has become a national strategy. However,in recent years, the frequent occurrence of haze pollution in the Yangtze River Delta has posed a serious threat to people's health, and the contradiction between urbanization development and haze pollution has become increasingly prominent. The impact of urbanization development on haze pollution has gradually become one of the hot issues widely discussed in the academic community. On the basis of relevant theoretical research and literature reading analysis, this paper first analyzes the theoretical mechanism of urbanization development affecting haze pollution, and then puts forward research hypothesis;secondly,it analyzes the current situation of urbanization and haze pollution in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, and calculates the annual average PM2.5 global Moran index of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration using the global spatial autocorrelation analysis method,The spatial dependence of haze pollution in this area is tested, and the dynamic change process of haze pollution in two dimensions of time and space is discussed by drawing Moran index scatter diagram and Lisa significance level diagram;finally, the spatial measurement model is constructed by using the panel data of 26 prefecture level cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration to test the impact of urbanization development on haze pollution. The results show that:(1)the urbanization development level of cities in the Yangtze River Delta is quite different, showing the distribution characteristics of"weak strong weak strong"from north to south, with little change from the time dimension. However, the haze pollution in this area shows significant spatial dependence, and there are high value and high value concentration, low value and low value concentration. The areas with more serious haze pollution are concentrated in the north of the urban agglomeration, the lighter areas are concentrated in the south of the urban agglomeration, and the central area is not significant. This shows that under the background of regional integration, the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomerations need to break through regional restrictions and strengthen joint prevention and control in the face of the contradiction between urbanization development and haze pollution.(2)The positive and negative effects of urbanization on haze pollution coexist, which depends on the choice of action path after the game of government, enterprise and family interests in different stages of urbanization. In the study sample period, the urbanization development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration has a significant effect on the haze pollution in the region and adjacent areas, and the empirical results show that the impact shows an inverted U-shaped curve trend, indicating that the urbanization development of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration may aggravate the haze pollution in the short term,in the long term, with the further development of urbanization,it will play a role in inhibition. At the same time, the improvement of industrialization level also has a significant aggravating effect on the haze pollution in the region and adjacent areas. To a certain extent, the economic development level has a restraining effect on the haze pollution. In the urbanization development, the government vigorously develops the economy, but at the same time, the investment in environmental protection and supervision are insufficient. In addition, the increase of the number of cars and the increase of energy consumption are also important reasons for the aggravation of haze pollution. The increase of urban population will inevitably increase the demand for cars and energy. However, the government's efforts to promote public transport and scientific guidance of energy conservation and emission reduction concepts will be conducive to resolving the contradiction between the development of urbanization and haze pollution.
