Now days,the automotive industrial is an integrated hi-tech industry across multiple industries.Automotive industry is always one of the pillar industries in the developed countries,i.e.Germany,Japan,Korea and even USA.With over 30 years'fast development,auto industry is also one of Chinese economic pillar.The Automotive components companies are the foundation of the auto industry.However,there are still tremendous gap between China and those advanced auto industry countries.One of the root cause behind is,there are still ample gap within performance management between Chinese and those advanced automotive suppliers.This paper is proposing to enhance the strategy planning and performance management,expecting contributing something to Chinese automotive suppliers'performance management enhancement.Other than those performance management best practices,i.e.Management by Objectives(MBO),Balanced Scorecard(BSC),Key Performance Indicator(KPI),this paper also introduced the auto industry best practices,for example Advanced Product Quality Planning and major Automotive OEMs performance index.M company is a typical automotive supplier.By analyzing M company's SWOT,we have the chance to figure out the company's issue in performance management and the why we need to re-establish a new performance management system.The paper is drafting the performance management system with following cadence:By proposing the strategy mapping,we figure the company level key performance index.Then each department have the chance to link the company level KPI to their own detail objectives;The project of re-establish the new performance management system included project team kickoff,timing management,and the implementation strategy etc.The output of the performance management system result in an alliance company's strategy with each individuals.And it providing an index for employee training,job rotation/promotion,career development and reimbursement adjustment.Ultimately,it would bring the chance to grow the company and employee together.Automotive Industry is a high-investment,long pay-back,high risk industry,the paper drafted out how the M company re-establish the performance management system.It may bring a potential clue for Chinese automotive supplier for establishing a sustainable system improving the performance for customer,enterprise and employee.
