Investigation And Research On Guangfujiao Historic District In Datong City

The ancient city of Datong has a history of nearly two thousand years,the name of which changes from the name of which changes from Qin and Han to a town in Ming and Qing dynasties,and then to today's Datong.Datong has a unique layout.The streets and lanes in the ancient city are orderly,and there are many religious buildings and dwellings.The scale of the streets and alleys is appropriate,and the hierarchy is clear.Religious buildings have strong traditional geomantic and Confucian ideas,and the traditional folk houses have unique shapes,which shows typical adaptation to the northern climate of China.However,in 2008,the old city of Datong was demolished to make way for the new one.As a result,the historical and cultural remains of Datong city were seriously destroyed and its historical and cultural values were seriously underminged.Now,the historical block in Datong City is only the historical block west of Drum Tower and Guangfujiao Corner.The research object of this paper is Guangfu Jiao Historical block,which is located in the southeast corner of Datong and is the best preserved historical block at the present stage.From the perspective of archaeology,I found that Guangfu Jiao is a residential area with a large concentration of residents in Datong from the perspective of investigation and data sorting through streets,dwellings and religious buildings in the street area.The streets and lanes in the historical block are preserved with different scales,and the spatial structure has preserved the checkerboard pattern of the Lifang system after the Qin and Han dynasties.The styles of residential buildings are different,with distinct northern characteristics of ethnic integration.Religious buildings vary in scale and rank.Under the current urban reconstruction environment,it has become the theme of this paper to investigate the cultural elements information.
