With the development of society and the improvement of technology,the importance of intelligent self-service terminals increases in daily life.The interaction design of metro ticket vending machines,which are one of the most common intelligent self-service terminals,not only relate to the feelings of usage,but also influence the system function and performance.Under the background of aging population,it is imperative to study the suitable aging interaction design of metro ticketing vending machines.Multichannel interaction design refers to an interaction pattern in which multiple sensory channels are leveraged to communicate with the computer system during the interaction process.Based on the multichannel interaction design principle,the paper proposes the channel compensation mechanism available for suitable aging interaction design.The proposed mechanism studies sensory channels from both user and machine aspects,where the machine can conduct autonomous interaction via the algorithm-based selection of inner-channel enhancement and inter-channel compensation,thus provide adaptive services for users.The channel compensation mechanism is then analyzed in value and proved to be able to be applied in suitable aging interaction design.The research process and framework of channel compensation mechanism in suitable aging interaction design are also formed.The paper also investigates the existing problems of metro ticket vending machines and user behavior needs by means of context interviews,questionnaires and user interviews.Together with elements of information product design,the strategies of suitable aging interaction design for metro ticket vending machine is summarized.With the proposed design strategies as guidance,the paper gives the design scheme of the Nanjing metro ticket vending machine based on the channel compensation mechanism and artificial intelligence technologies.To validate the feasibility of the scheme,the paper implements it with open source software and hardware.Usability testing experiments are conducted to verify the effect.The research in the paper not only provides some reference experience on the design of other suitable aging interaction design but also indicates that during the product design,the artificial intelligence technology can be incorporated to adaptively provide services and interaction according to the behavior and characteristics of users.Besides,this paper also gives new ideas for the interaction design of other products.
