In everyday conversation, people sometimes use sentences that violate the order of words in order to express their needs. These sentences are called inversion. Both Chinese and Korean have this pattern. In recent years, there have been a lot of contrastive studies between Chinese and Korean, but few of them are devoted to inversion. Therefore,in this context, this paper takes the inversion in Chinese and Korean TV dramas as an example, from the structural types and pragmatic functions,to investigate the Chinese and Korean inversion, and compare their similarities and differences.First of all, based on the definition and criterion of Chinese and Korean inversion sentences by previous scholars, this paper summarizes the criterion of Chinese inversion sentences as follows:(1)The sentence components can be restored to the original position after inversion.(2)The syntactic relation and basic meaning of the sentence remain unchanged after the inversion component is reset.(3)The last part of the sentence follows the preceding part. The criterion of Korean inverted sentence is that the components can be restored to the original position after inverted. The basic meaning of the sentence remains the same after the inversion.Secondly, this paper classifies Chinese and Korean inversion sentences according to their components, and compares their similarities and differences. This paper holds that Chinese inversion includes subject inversion, adverbial inversion, complement inversion and multi-component inversion.Korean inversion includes subject inversion, adverbial inversion, object inversion and multi-component inversion. The similarities between Chinese inversion and Korean inversion are as follows: subject inversion, adverbial inversion and multi-component inversion exist in Chinese inversion and Korean inversion. The differences are as follows: There is no object inversion inChinese inverted sentences, and there is no complement inversion in Korean inverted sentences. Finally, based on the findings of the studies on the pragmatic functions of chinese-korean inverted sentences in China and Korea, and from the perspective of pragmatics, combining with the theory of information structure, this paper takes the information state distribution of the pre-and post-placed elements of inverted sentences as a starting point, this paper discusses the Chinese and Korean inverted sentences. This paper holds that Chinese inversion has the pragmatic functions of emphasizing and supplementing explanation, and Korean inversion has the pragmatic functions of emphasizing, supplementing explanation and attracting attention. At the same time, this paper also explores the types of inversion which embody various pragmatic functions. To sum up,this paper reveals the similarities and differences in the structural types and pragmatic functions of Chinese and Korean inversion sentences through the collection of literature, statistics and comparative analysis of data, and the different causes are briefly discussed.
