This translation text is selected from an educational sociology work which named The Achievement Gap: A Poverty Crisis,Not An Education Crisis(Chapters 1-5).The original text expounds a new view that the reason for the achievement gap is no longer the education factor,but the society,and the impact of the poverty crisis is more profound.In the translation practice report,the translator mainly discusses the translation of the education society terms and the translation of the non-equivalence,combines the interlingual conversion mechanism of Liu Miqing's and Catford·J·C's theory of translation shift to discuss the translation of the sentences.And through the translation of words and sentences,the translator hopes to summarize the characteristics of the educational sociology text,the translation skills of educational sociology terms and word inequality,and the different methods of English-Chinese translation conversion,so as to provide reference for the future translation of the similar text,and improve the ability of translation and the ability to translate and analyze.
