This translation text was selected from climate works na med Climate Change: the Science of Global Warming and Our Energy Future(Chapter13).The works selected mainly describes how fossil fuels,such as coal and oil,generate electricity and their negative effects on the environment and human beings,and analyzes different kinds of clean energy,including natural gas,nuclear power,wind and solar power and their electricity-generating methods and advantages.It is expected to protect the environment by using the clean energy.Under the guidance of Skopos Theory proposed by Vermeer,the translation report analyzes and summarizes the text from the perspectives of lexical and syntactic levels,and mainly discuss the parts including the extension of words,the division of words and phrases as well as the translation of complex sentences.It is hoped that the translation report can be used as a reference for climate and energy text translation and for professionals in the climate and energy fields.
