In the process of multi-cultural communication in the world,mutual understanding between different cultures is needed.As a platform for cultural exchange between China and the world,Confucius Institute plays an important role in the overseas communication of Chinese culture.With the development of Confucius Institute and the world's demands for Chinese culture,Chinese traditional art frequently appears in cultural exchange activities and classroom teaching.From2009 to 2012,Confucius Institutes with opera,music and dance as its school running characteristics were successively established.It can be noticed that the Confucius Institute has begun to pay attention to the art teaching in the process of overseas cultural communication.However,in the initial stage,no matter from teaching resources or teaching mode,systematicness of the art teaching is not at its best,and the corresponding theoretical research is not sound.Based on the above phenomena,it is urgent to solve the related problems of how to improve the overseas art teaching of Confucius Institute.The theoretical study of overseas art teaching activities not only plays a positive role in the future development of Confucius Institute,but also has practical significance in promoting the world's multi-cultural communication.Taking the art teaching of Confucius Institute as the research object,by the means of literature,interview,observation,etc.,using the constructivism teaching theory,using the perspective of communication theory to explain the feasibility and necessity of Confucius Institute engaged in foreign art teaching.In the first chapter,the introduction includes the background and significance of the topic,the theoretical basis and literature review,the research content and research methods;in the second chapter,the demands of cross-cultural communication on the art teaching of Confucius Institute,and understanding the possibility of art teaching on cross-cultural communication through combing the relationship between communication and teaching;in the third chapter,the art teaching and teaching resources of Confucius Institute,this paper discusses the characteristics of the existing art teaching activities of Confucius Institute and the embodiment ofconstructivism teaching theory based on the analysis of Confucius Institute with technical art-particularity characteristics and general Confucius Institute,In chapter four,on the basic of the understanding of multi-cultural teaching,it discusses how to improve the overseas art teaching of Confucius Institute in terms of teaching subject and object,teaching mode,etc.The art teaching of Confucius Institute is the unity of art education and cross-cultural communication.However,the overseas art teaching behavior is not the implementation of education.As a way and method of cultural communication,art teaching has the practical value of promoting the exchange of cultural ideas and broadening the scope of communication.Confucius Institute provides the possibility and necessity for the mutual communication and learning of cultures among all ethnic groups in the world.In the trend of large-scale opening of Confucius Institute,although the scope and influence of teaching have been expanded,the quality of art teaching has been rough,and because of the instability of the teaching subject,the unclear teaching concept,the imperfect teaching material construction and other problems,the art teaching mode can not form a systematic state.The spreading significance of art teaching in Confucius Institute is greater than its actual teaching effect.
