In this translation practice report,the translator extracts the chapter 5(Decision Process Across Marketing Generations)from the book Transgenerational Marketing Evolution,Expansion,and Experience as the text.This chapter focuses on the development of marketing and marketing strategies that companies have adopted at different times.Management text is informative text,so the translator analyzes and summarizes some difficult problems encountered during the translation practice from the perspective of discourse linguistics according to the text content and the linguistic characteristics of the informative text.In the process of analysis,the translator mainly analyzes these problems from the perspectives of information focus,intrasentential cohesion and explicitation of logical relations.In view of the linguistic characteristics of the text,the translator applies the remindering of functional vocabularies,English-Chinese sentence conversion and English word order changes to translate the information focus of the text,and employs lexical cohesion,conjunctive cohesion and reference cohesion to realize the intrasentential cohesion,and the translator also analyzes the logical relations within and outside sentences to realize the explicitation of the logical relations.All above efforts are to ensure the quality of the target text.In the end,the translator has summarized some translation methods and strategies suitable for such texts,and hopes to provide a certain reference value for the translation for such texts.
