This paper is a report of simultaneous interpretation of Obama's inaugural and farewell speeches. This report has specifically analyzed and elaborated the problems in the process of simultaneous interpretation and the interpretation strategies to solve the problems mainly from four aspects: task introduction, main problem analysis, strategy elaboration and post-translation summary. The writer has classified the interpretation problems into three categories: the misinterpretation and information omission caused by logical confusion of long and complex sentences, and the problem of translationese. In view of the misinterpretation and information omission caused by logical confusion of long and complex sentences, the writer puts forward interpreting strategies such as sentence breaking and supplement.First of all, using sentence breaking can help the writer to clarify the logic of the source language and make the logic clearer, which effectively reduces the memory burden of the translator.Secondly, the supplement improves the coherence of the translation, and makes the translation more fluent. For the problem of the translationese, the writer points out interpreting strategies to make the translation more in line with Chinese expression habits and more authentic, such as conversion, word order adjustment, voice conversion and putting negative sentences into affirmative. At the same time, the interpreting strategies can also improve the quality of the translation.Through the practice of simultaneous interpretation and the summary and analysis after the practice, the writer has found the weakness of the interpretation and improved her own interpreting level. It also provides a good reference for English-Chinese simultaneous interpretation of documentaries in the future.
