This paper discussed Plato's views of soul.Firstly,I began with the general concepts of soul, and discussed the relationship between soul and death, ethic and individual. Then analyzed the theory of suicide guilt, the definition of death and the independent consciousness activity of soul, and analyzed the differences and sources between philosopher's ethic and ordinary people's ethic.I discussed the relationship between soul identity and individual identity, and the specific performances of soul identity.Starting from the general concepts and defining the soul, that the next arguments based on the definition and the concepts.Secondly,it discussed three arguments of immortality of soul.On the contrary, the argument of the opposites showed that the soul exists before birthing and after death, and the cycle of death and rebirth was eternal. The purpose of similitude argument was to show that the soul is similar to the single and unchanging "Forms",not the mortal thing. It emphasized the "divinity" of the soul. The final argument, starting from the cause of life, demonstrated that the soul is immortal and indestructible. Then studied professor Wufei's philosophical existence of soul, and put forward some opinions and solutions to the existing problems. Finally, putting forward the viewpoint of this paper that soul as a‘the general Forms' was both single and compound, and it was immortal but not indestructible.Starting from the distinction between‘the nature of general Forms'and'the general Forms',I hope to solve the contradiction of the soul.In the Phaedo,Plato thinks that the soul is a single entity. In the Republic, the soul was a complex composed of three parts.I tried to solve the problems in Plato's argument by further distinguishing 'the Forms'.
