From the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Liang Dynasty,Yizhou,as one of the regions with a large number of monks,was an important stage for the development of Buddhism.For more than two hundred years,The introduction of Buddhism into the Yizhou region,forming a unique characteristic and far-reaching influence in Yizhou.No later than the late Eastern Han Dynasty,Buddhism was first spread in Yizhou,facing the local culture of Yizhou,where Buddhism was combined with divine magic to spread.Through the analysis of the monasteries in Yizhou,we can find that the number of monasteries in Yizhou was the highest in Liu and Xiao,and the economy of monasteries also developed,and "temple treasuries" emerged,indicating that some monasteries accumulated a lot of wealth,and the naming of Buddhist temples was influenced by politics and culture.By analyzing the places of origin of monks who were active in Yizhou,most of the monks who made great contributions to the development of Buddhism in Yizhou during the period from Eastern Jin to Liu Song were foreign monks.With the development of Buddhism in Yizhou,monks of Yizhou origin began to grow up.As the number of monks and Buddhist temples increased,monastic officials at all levels were established.The sons of the clans active in Yizhou region believed in Buddhism more and more and made important contributions to the development of Buddhism;during the Eastern Jin Dynasty,high monks were combined with famous scholars,and many Buddhist followers appeared among the clans of the gatekeepers and scholars,some of whom even became monks directly;the common people were also actively involved in Buddhism,and there were devotees of different professions and genders who actively participated in the practice of Buddhism.Buddhism in Yizhou during the period from the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Liang Dynasty showed obvious regional characteristics: firstly,the development of Buddhism in the region attached great importance to meditation,statue making and other cultivation practices;secondly,Yizhou was located at the intersection of the Northern and Southern regimes,and was influenced by both sides,showing the characteristics of intermingling;thirdly,Buddhism was fused with the original religious beliefs in Yizhou after its introduction,showing the characteristics of divine difference;finally,Yizhou,as the birthplace of Tianshidao,Buddhism was introduced and competed with The competition between Buddhism and Taoism was also very intense.At the same time,Buddhism in Yizhou influenced Tugokun Buddhism,Northern Zhou Buddhism,and even Buddhism in the Sui and Tang dynasties.
