Research On The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Primary School English Subject Education

The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC)clearly stated: "we must fulfill the fundamental task of standing up for morality and cultivating people." Xi Jinping pointed out in the National Education Conference: "we need to put moral composition in ideological and moral education,knowledge education,etc.Teachers must teach around the goal,and students must learn around the goal.We must resolutely correct all practices that are not conducive to the realization of this goal."Therefore,it is the mission of every educator to cultivate people by virtue.As a subject teacher,we must give play to the function of education then truly realize the transformation from "subject teaching" to "subject education".With the aid of literature research,questionnaire survey,classroom observation,interview and case analysis,this study studied the current situation of subject education of some primary school English teachers in Yangpu District,Shanghai.It found that there are mainly the following problems: The teachers' knowledge of English education is not enough and their awareness is weak.The teachers' methods of English discipline education are simple and superficial.English discipline education is not effective.Through the study,the author found that the reasons for the above problems are as follows:the phenomenon of "attaching importance to intellectual education and neglecting moral education" is still widespread;Teachers lack of relevant guidance,English discipline education ability is insufficient;The current evaluation system does not match the objective of English education.In view of the above problems,the author puts forward some countermeasures,mainly including: strengthening the guidance of English discipline education,developing English discipline education resources;Strengthen the innovation of English teaching practice;To establish an evaluation mechanism for English education and strengthen its monitoring.The author hopes that this study can provide some references for the subject education of primary school English,help teachers to better realize the subject education of English,and effectively improve the effect of subject education,so as to implement the fundamental task of cultivating students by virtue.
