The study of ancient settlements and social changes is one of the important focuses of current academic circles.In this paper,based on the sanggan river basin of the location of the different historical period of the three mayi settlements,regulation,and the location factors and change reason,summarizes the history of the three mayi settlements,tease out today it is mined here today with three ancient mayi mayi,the relationship between,and through the contrast summarizes various historical periods of mayi settlements humanities factors and policy history,summed up the various historical periods mayi settlement regularity of urban functions and location and think today the sanggan river valley and even the farming-pastoral zone for reference to protection and development of traditional settlements.This paper consists of five chapters:The first chapter is introduction.This paper defines the relevant notion and discusses the relationship between the concepts,introduces the research objectives,research thought and approach of this thesis,and sums up and reviews the relevant research results domestic and overseas.The second chapter combs the origin and source of "Mayi" place-names on the basis of referring to a large number of documents.In the third chapter,firstly,by means of field investigation,archaeological reports,literature records,ancient maps and other research methods,combined with the historical policy background at that time,the establishment,evolution,location and regulation of Mayi settlements in the Qin,Tang and Ming Dynasties were studied and restored;secondly,through field investigation and combined with the third national cultural relics survey and other literature,the current situation of Mayi settlements in the Qin,Tang and Ming Dynasties was analyzed From the Han Dynasty to the Northern Qi Dynasty,this paper investigates the present situation of Mayi and Ming Mayi,and sorts out other related remains.Finally,it makes a special research on the difficult problem of the spatial positioning and the relationship between Tang Mayi and Ming Mayi.The fourth chapter is the historical period of the Mayi settlement site selection factors and the reasons for migration of the research.Due to the limitation of its geographical conditions,the Sanggan River Basin had no great changes in terms of its natural geographical appearance during the whole historical period.Nevertheless,due to the influence of economic growth and military culture,the location distribution of settlements in Sanggan River Basin varies significantly in different periods.Therefore,the author puts aside the relatively fixed factors of natural geography in this chapter,and takes the cultural,military and other humanistic factors that have a great impact in each historical period as the entry point to explore the reasons for the location and change of Mayi settlements in the three historical periods of Qin,Tang and Ming.The fifth chapter is the conclusion part.First of all,the author summarizes the full text and briefly describes some of the main conclusions of this paper.Secondly,combined with the actual situation of Mayi city site from Qin and Han Dynasties to Northern Qi Dynasty and Mayi city site in Ming Dynasty,the author briefly describes the current situation of traditional urban settlements and rural settlements in Shanxi,and briefly puts forward feasible suggestions for their protection and development,so as to attract the attention of scholars and contribute to the protection and revitalization of traditional settlements in Shanxi in the future.
