Since the 20th century,school music education has been in a dynamic process of continuous change and growth.Music education plays a special role in social political economy.In the process of development,its changes are not only the need of the development of the times,but also the constraints of social and political systems and other complex factors.School music education has the function of inheriting and spreading music culture.With the development of history and the change of social and cultural concepts,school music education in modern China has changed in different historical periods and different social and cultural contexts.In the early 20 th century,the theory of western music progress produced by the collision of Chinese and western music culture,the relativity of Chinese and western music culture,multicultural equality and the concept of music education advocating Chinese culture as mother tongue have deeply influenced the choice of school music education curriculum.In China in the 21st century,how to face the increasingly frequent exchange of music culture between East and West in the era of globalization and how to carry forward the music culture of our country in the forest of world music culture,It is necessary to sort out and examine the cultural choice and social and political factors of school music education thought and curriculum content construction in different stages.Therefore,to explore the educational background of the concept of "music education in Chinese culture as the mother tongue",to reveal the music education in modern Chinese schools from the new schools in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China,and to grasp the historical track of the development characteristics of national music education in Chinese schools.
