Calligrapher adherents from the Qing Dynasty are a group of calligraphers who have been concerned in the study of calligraphy history.While most of them chose to trade their calligraphy works for living in Shanghai after the revolution of 1911.Among them,Wu Changshuo,Zheng Xiaoxu,Li Ruiqing and Zeng Xi were outstanding calligrapher adherents of the Qing Dynasty in the early Republic of China.However,they had encountered varied social status at that time,so it reflected along with the obvious discrepancy.Besides Wu Changshuo concentrated on the arts,Zheng Xiaoxu was active in politics,Li Ruiqing and Zeng Xi were deeply attached to the tradition of scholars.Therefore,this paper examines their literature trade in Shanghai and makes a comparative analysis after using the methods of economics and art sociology,thus finding out the relevant influence on their calligraphy creation and mentality.Moreover,in Shanghai,where western learning was broadcasting eastward and commerce was booming,there were often conflicts and struggles among the Qing people who lived for literature trade.
