Due to rapid development of China's economy and ever-growing international exchange practices, the world's demand for learning Chinese language has increased drastically. The global work of teaching and promoting the Chinese language has demonstrated unprecedented dynamics of rapid development and increasingly diverse forms of evolving.Conducting research and analysis of countries and regions not only leads to the development of local education and teaching practices, but also,by itself,is a historical factor that may boost international promotion of the Chinese language.Uzbekistan is an important country along the “belt and path” and a friendly neighbor of China, which has a very important impact on the geopolitical security of China.Since Uzbekistan achieved national independence in 1991,China-Uzbek relations have developed rapidly in various fields.Teaching Chinese in Uzbekistan has become the most important way to promote mutual understanding and trust between the people of China and Uzbekistan. With the increasing trend of globalization, frequent exchanges between Uzbekistan and China have led to a high demand for learning Chinese language and culture in Uzbekistan.Since more and more students study Chinese in Uzbekistan, some students prefer to study in China and learn Chinese in the language environment, but only a few can actually study in China. The majority of those learning Chinese do it so in their home countries. The outdated Chinese textbooks do not meet the needs of these learners,so the demand for comprehensive contemporary Chinese textbooks is increasing. At present,Uzbek sinologists have enough books on Chinese grammar, vocabulary, and terminology, but no one has developed textbooks based on these books to optimize Chinese learning. The pedagogical practice of Uzbekistan shows that it is still difficult to find appropriate textbooks that are fully consistent with local learning conditions,so the absence of textbooks emerges to be a huge obstacle. In my opinion, improving and writing Chinese study materials is as important as writing a dictionary of terms or grammar books, because students get basic knowledge from such textbooks. The quality of teaching depends on the quality of the teaching materials.High-quality teaching can in turn improve students' knowledge.Hence, the subject is worthy of consideration and detailed study. This article consists of five distinctive parts. The first part includes the purpose of the study and the significance of this article, the status of studies on the localization of textbooks,as well as a summary of the results of previous studies, including those that have been conducted in China and Uzbekistan. The second part is an overview of the current state of affairs with textbooks.Using questionnaires and interviews, there has been conducted a research on the study of a second language in Uzbekistan, which includes a classification and examination of the current status of use of textbooks. The design and survey process is aimed at review of statistics and analysis of the results of the survey,as well as at identifying possible problems. These textbooks include basic textbooks, such as “New target Chinese spoken language” and “New practical Chinese reader”,and other textbooks, such as “Modern Chinese Course” and “Boya Chinese”.The third part is an analysis of the Chinese textbooks currently in use in Uzbekistan. In accordance with the questionnaire survey method,a detailed analysis is made of the structure of the external content and translation mode of the textbook“New practical Chinese reader”,and from the point of view of the localization of textbooks, the relevant proposals on the textbook have been made. The fourth part proposes improvement suggestions for the use of teaching materials. The fifth part is the author's summary of this article.
