The atmosphere is closely related to human life, and the global warming trend is obvious. However,in the past studies, the main concern was mostly the impact of industry on the environment. In the translation practice, this report selects the 17 th chapter of popular science article Food Fix: How to save our health, our economy, our communities, and our planet one bite at a time as the translation text. From a new perspective--food,the author,Mark Hyman studies the economic, political and environmental impacts of food from production, consumption to waste. The translation report was written based on the text.It applies Peter Newmark's theory of communicative translation and semantic translation to discuss the problems in text translation from lexical and syntactic perspectives with specific cases. In terms of morphology, because there are many technical terms in this text, the report adopts literal translation and annotation for unfamiliar words and adopts class shift method of Catford's translation shift theory and word extending method to analyze the text words as a whole.Syntactically, this report uses different translation techniques to solve the structural problems in sentences, such as the amplification of parallel structures, the adverbial translation of participle structures, the shift of positive and negative structures and the division of split structures. This report aims to provide reference for related domestic food production problems, and the applied translation strategy can also provide reference for future translation reports in this aspect.
