A Report On The Practice Of English-Chinese Continuous Interpretation Of The Audiobook "Eccentric Behavior"

With the rapid development of the Internet and the accelerating process of globalization,more and more convenient ways of learning have emerged in human society.In recent years,the development of audio-books has been very rapid in the wave of the Internet.The corpus selected for this interpretation practice is the English audio-book Predictably Irrational,which is similar to a podcast.The reader of this book tells several short stories in the way of narration.The content is easy to understand and the English level is intermediate.Based on previous experience in interpreting training,the writer finds that the conversational style of the source language can be better preserved through the method of consecutive interpretation.This report analyzes the practice of interpretation from four aspects: preparation before translation,interpretation process,case study and post-translation summary.The practice report focuses on the problems in the process of practice,such as listening difficulties,translation redundancy,illogical translation,and the corresponding solutions to them.In the end,the writer summarizes his experience and weaknesses of the interpretation practice,hoping to provide some experience and reference for interpreters who are committed to the consecutive interpretation of English audio-books.
