Report On The English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation Of The "2021 World Economic Forum Ocean Dialogue" Conference

This report is a simultaneous interpretation practice based on "2021 World Economic Forum Online Ocean Dialogue".The report conducts research and analysis on the entire process of simultaneous interpretation practice,including preparation and transcription analysis.The interpreter finds that the quality of the translation has problems such as omission,translationese and unclear logic.The report shows reasons for these problems.It shows that the omission is mostly caused by the improper segmentation and connection and the lack of hearing and identification of the source language.Over literal translation and improper understanding of source language lead to translationese.Improper cohesion and improper handling of negative sentences are the main reasons for unclear logic.Aiming at the problems and the quality of the target language,the interpreter starts with four simultaneous interpretation strategies: reasonable segmentation,positive prediction,moderate adjustment and simplification.Through case analysis,the report explores how to solve the problems and how to apply these strategies appropriately to solving problems that may arise.And it also summarizes different simultaneous interpretation strategies and explores to use them more effectively in the future simultaneous interpretation practice to solve the practical problems that the interpreter may encounter.This report can not only measure the interpreter's ability,but also has certain guiding significance for future simultaneous interpretation practice.
