Through the analysis of the simultaneous interpretation process,Professor Daniel Gile(1995),a famous French interpreter, puts forward the Effort Model.According to the theory, the interpreter must focus on the handling of attention distribution issues,so that he will be able to make the interpretation fluent. In other words, each individual task should be less than or equal to the interpreter's individual task processing capabilities, and then the interpreter can easily complete the entire interpretation work. And syntactic linearity is generally recognized as one of the foremost principles to relieve the great pressure in SI and help SI go smoothly.Based on the theory of Effort Model and syntactic linearity principle, this paper is composed of five parts. The beginning part introduces the study background, purposes and significance, framework and theoretical basis.Chapter one mainly describes the Effort Model, simultaneous interpreting, simplification and addition and their connection.Chapter two is a brief introduction to Michelle Obama's speech at Peking University in 2014 and analyzes the text.Chapter three discusses the case application to explain the proper use of simplicity and addition in the simultaneous interpretation work, will well and effectively balances the limited effort of interpreters to complete simultaneous interpretation tasks successfully. The last part is a conclusion of the paper, concludes the inspiration and some limitations of the study.
