Domestic Violence And Abuse (Chapter 1) English-Chinese Translation Practice Report

In recent years,with the continuous development of mass media,the issue of domestic violence gradually appeared in front of the public.Therefore,it is of great significance to translate works related to domestic violence abroad.The translated practical text is selected from Chapter One: Background and History of Domestic Violence and Abuse.It lists a large number of real cases,analyzes the various harms of domestic violence and abuse,and introduces various forms and solutions of it.This report discusses proper nouns,modifiers,informational sentences and text cohesion.When translating proper nouns,the notation method and the codification method are adopted;the translation method,abstract translation method and praise and derogatory translation method are adopted for modifiers;the translation of informative sentences is completed by the translation method and the sequential translation method;and the discourse articulation is through the connection and correspondence.Through the above translation strategies,the common problems and difficulties of the text are studied.Use these translation strategies to solve common problems and difficulties in the text,and contribute to the same type of translation research.
