Based on Chinese-English consecutive interpretation practice in "Overseas Dissemination of Chinese Contemporary Literature" lecture, this report explores the problems and causes exposed in Chinese-English consecutive interpretation, and puts forward the corresponding solutions.Firstly, there are differences between Chinese and English expressions.Compared with the tight and logic structure of English sentences,Chinese contains redundancy in sentences and words. Therefore,in the process of Chinese-English interpretation, techniques such as omission, conversion and explicitation can be used to make the sentences more precise and expressive.Additionally, the words with Chinese characteristics and the cultural knowledge that puzzle the target language audience also make it difficult to interpret. With reference to the interpretation strategies proposed by experts and scholars, the author of the report mainly uses free translation and amplification to deal with interpretation problems. Finally, there are non-subject sentences in Chinese, while English sentences are subject-prominent.Thus,it is suggested to add subject or use passive sentences to make English sentences more idiomatic. It is hoped that this report could provide some help to interpretation learners.
