A Study On The English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation Strategy Of Attributive Clauses Under The Cognitive Load Model

From the perspective of Effort Model,three major difficulties of attributive clauses in E-C simultaneous interpretation are discussed in this thesis,namely,the syntactic difference between English and Chinese,the differences between English and Chinese word order,and the high information density of attributive clauses in English.These will cause different cognitive problems in SI.Correspondingly,some effective strategies are proposed such as waiting,segmentation,fusion,generalization and omission.It is hoped that this thesis can serve as a reference for other interpreters and learners.
